Mecynorhina 2.0 - with a body length of over 80 mm, are exceptionally large beetles and are rarely achieved in beetle breeding.

Starting material:

  • The best quality beetles or larvae
  • (Gene diversity, beetle size, larval weight, appearance, vitality)


Accommodation of the larvae:

  • Separately keeping L1-L2 (50 ml - 200 ml Dose)
  • Together in the 3rd larval stage (1-5 Liter per Larva)
  • Separately keeping End L3 (Larval weight ca. 50g)

 

Larval food:

  • Humus (fermented leaves, beech & oak) medium moisture
  • Gammarus as protein addition, from the 1st to 3rd larval stage
  • Optional apple pieces, sweet varieties, End L3 (L3 Weight ca. 50g)


Larvae control and substrate change:

  • L1-L2 depending on larvae and container size, after 5 - 7 days
  • L2-L3, depending on larvae and container size, after 1 - 7 days


Room temperature: 18-21°C (min. 15°C / max. 25°C)


The beetle hatches after 12-15 months as a larva and 2-3 months in the cocoon. Beetle size: males 50-85 mm, females 45-65 mm
